Kakenya Ntaiya is president of The Kakenya Center for Excellence, a primary boarding
school focused on serving the most vulnerable underprivileged Maasai girls in Kenya. The first primary school for girls in the region, the academy focuses on academic excellence, female empowerment, leadership, and community development. The center opened in May 2009 with 32 students and enrolled an additional 31 students in January 2010 in fourth grade. In addition to academic and leadership instruction, the school also promotes the preservation of non-destructive cultural and domestic values.
