Andrea Neal

President, Principal Investigator , Blue Ocean Sciences, Project Kaisei

Andrea Neal is the principal investigator for Project Kaisei, president of Blue Ocean Sciences, and science advisor for Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society. She has 11 years of experience in the scientific community including projects ranging from bio-fuel development, nano-toxicity studies, marine debris and educational outreach focusing on environmental toxins. She has led and been a part of many scientific expeditions including two last summer studying marine debris -- one to the Sargasso Sea with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and one to the Subtropical Convergence Zone of The North Pacific Gyre with Project Kaisei. She also serves on numerous scientific panels including the upcoming UNESCO’s Global Forum on Oceans, Coasts, and Islands.
