Gary Braasch is an internationally known conservation photographer and photojournalist. Since 1980 he has documented natural history and environmental issues. He covered the eruption of Mount St. Helens, old growth forests, the Exxon Valdez oil tragedy and, most recently, climate change around the world. He has produced assignments for major magazines, including National Geographic, Scientific American, Smithsonian and Life. His project on the science and impact of climate change, World View of Global Warming, began in 1999. His most recent book about climate change, Earth Under Fire: How Global Warming is Changing the World, was widely acclaimed and updated in 2009.
