Audrey & Frank Peterman

Authors

Audrey and Frank Peterman have been pioneers in the national environmental movement since 1995, with a specific focus on engaging Americans of color with the public lands system. Following a 12,000-mile driving adventure around the country, in which they beheld the glories of the National Park System from the Atlantic to the Pacific, and seeing less than a handful of “minorities” among the staff and visitors, the Petermans formed Earthwise Productions to raise awareness and involvement among this demographic group. Since 2003, Frank has been an executive with The Wilderness Society, responsible for public and political outreach for the Southeast Region. Last September, the Petermans released their book, Legacy on the Land: A Black Couple Discovers Our National Inheritance and Tells Why Every American Should Care.
