Jerome Ringo

President, Apollo Alliance

Jerome Ringo is president of the Apollo Alliance, a coalition of labor, business, environmental, and community leaders working to catalyze a clean energy revolution that will put millions of Americans to work in high-quality green-collar jobs. He spent more than 20 years in Louisiana’s petrochemical industry, much of that time as an active union member working to secure a safe work environment and quality jobs. He organized community environmental justice groups, and his organizing experience in the environmental and labor communities helped to create a broad-based coalition to provide real solutions for the energy crisis. He was elected in 1996 to the National Wildlife Federation board of directors and in 2005 became the board’s chairman, the first African-American to head a major conservation organization.
