Neville Williams, a former journalist, is the founder of Standard Solar Inc., the Mid-Atlantic’s largest solar services and installation company. He began his solar career during the Carter Administration at the US Department of Energy and later joined Greenpeace as its national media director. He also started the Solar Electric Light Fund in Washington, DC, bringing solar electricity to rural people in 11 developing countries, and in 1997 launched the Solar Electric Light Company and cofounded SELCO-India, which has installed over 100,000 solar home lighting systems. He is the author of Chasing The Sun: Solar Adventures Around the World.
