Nora Mead Brownell is a principal of BC Strategies, a Washington-based energy consulting firm, and a former commissioner of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. A proponent of policies that promote investment in national energy infrastructure development, she consults internationally with industry and government officials on restructuring energy markets and creating independent regulatory commissions. She served as a member of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and was president of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners. She has also lectured at the Vermont Law School's Center for Energy and the Environment, the Michigan State University Institute of Public Utilities, the University of Idaho, and the Wharton Energy Club, among other venues.
