Sheila Kennedy

Founding Principal, Kennedy & Violich Architecture, Ltd.

Sheila Kennedy is a founding principal of Kennedy & Violich Architecture Ltd. (KVA MATx), an award-winning interdisciplinary design practice that explores relationships between architecture, technology, and emerging public needs. She creates design concepts, products, and building projects that integrate sustainable and energy harvesting materials in architecture, textiles, and building materials. The MATx Portable Light Project, a nonprofit global clean energy initiative for the developing world, has been recognized with awards for clean energy technology that benefits humanity. Selected in 2008 as one of the magazine Fast Company's Masters of Design, she lectures widely and has had her work exhibited at many design museums and conferences, as well as featured in journals of architecture, design culture, anthropology, and optoelectronics.
