Scot Horst is president of 7group, a leading green building consultancy. He is also president of the Athena Institute International, a nonprofit committed to the evaluation of environmental impacts of buildings through life cycle assessment. Since 2005, he has chaired the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) steering committee, the body that has principal responsibility for developing and implementing LEED in the US and internationally. For this work, he was the 2008 recipient of the council’s leadership award in the LEED category. He is a coauthor of “An Integrative Design Manual: Redefining the Practice of Sustainability.”
