James Balog is the founder and director of the Extreme Ice Survey, a monumental look at the impact abrupt climate change is having on the world’s glaciers. An award-winning nature and science photographer, he is the the author of Extreme Ice Now, Vanishing Glaciers, Changing Climate: A Progress Report, Tree: A New Vision of the American Forest and Survivors: A New Vision of Endangered Wildlife. His pictures appear regularly in the world’s major magazines, and he is a contributing editor to National Geographic Adventure. His photographs have been exhibited at more than one hundred museums and galleries from Paris to Los Angeles.
