Vijay Vaitheeswaran is an award-winning correspondent for the Economist. He joined the staff as the London-based Latin America correspondent, opening its first office in that region in Mexico City and serving as bureau chief. As global environment and energy correspondent, he covered politics, economics, business, and technology. His portfolio now encompasses global health, pharmaceuticals, and innovation. He teaches at New York University’s Stern School of Business and is the co-author of ZOOM: The Global Race to Fuel the Car of the Future and the author of Power to the People: How the Coming Energy Revolution Will Transform an Industry, Change Our Lives, and Maybe Even Save the Planet. His writings have received various prizes in America and abroad.
