Charles Wohlforth

Author, "The Whale and the Supercomputer: On the Northern Front of Climate Change"

Charles Wohlforth is a lifelong Alaska resident and the prize-winning author of many books and articles of narrative nonfiction about Alaska, science, nature, culture, politics, history, and travel A popular lecturer, he has spoken all over the United States and overseas. His acclaimed adventure story, The Whale and the Supercomputer, about climate change in the Arctic as experienced by the Eskimos and the scientists studying it, was published in 2004. His current projects include the forthcoming book Hidden Waters: Human Nature and the Fate of the Oceans. He lives in Anchorage with his wife and their four children.
