Nick Nichols

Wildlife Photographer, National Geographic

Michael "Nick" Nichols is a conservationist and a photographer for National Geographic. He collaborated with legendary primatologist Jane Goodall on Brutal Kinship, a book about chimpanzees and humans, and he is co-author of Year of the Tiger, a visual portrait of endangered felines. He also photographed the Megatransect expedition, a 2,000-mile walk through the heart of Africa chronicling what the African forest was like before human civilization altered it forever. In 2005, he published The Last Place on Earth, featuring 15 years of photography of Africa and its ecosystems as a microcosm of the planet. For many years he was a member of Magnum, the photographic cooperative.
