Steven McCormick is president of the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation in San Francisco, which focuses on environmental conservation, science, and the San Francisco Bay area. Most recently, he was president and CEO of the Nature Conservancy, where he began his career as Western regional legal counsel and spent 16 years as executive director of the California state program, creating an organization-wide strategic framework known as Conservation by Design. Previously, he was a partner at the Resources Law Group, a Sacramento firm that provides transactional and consulting services in land use and natural resources law and policy and creates opportunities for conservation philanthropy. He has served on several boards related to natural resources and social enterprise initiatives.
