M.A. Sanjayan is the Nature Conservancy’s lead scientist for the Atlantic conservation region, providing organization-wide and regional leadership on science and planning. He also serves on the Conservancy's executive leadership team and has directed conservation programs for its California chapter. Previously, he was managing partner for Biodiversity Conservation Consultants and a consultant to the World Bank, the Global Environmental Facility, and other environmental non-governmental organizations. He has also served on the research faculty of the environmental studies department at the University of California at Santa Cruz, and he speaks and lectures widely on sustainable development and conservation biology.
