Charles Driscoll is University Professor of Environmental Systems Engineering and director of the Center for Environmental Science and Engineering at Syracuse University. His teaching and research interests are in the areas of environmental chemistry, biogeochemistry, environmental quality modeling, and the response of forest, aquatic, and coastal ecosystems to disturbance, including air pollution, land use change, and elevated inputs of nutrients and mercury. The author of many articles on topics ranging from acid rain to nitrogen pollution, he is the principal investigator of the National Science Foundation’s long-term ecological research project at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest in New Hampshire.
