Speakers

Michelle Nijhuis is a science and environmental journalist and a contributor to National Geographic. Her reporting has also appeared in Smithsonian, The Atlantic, The New York Times, Audubon, and the anthology Best American Science and Nature Writing. She is a longtime contributing editor of High Country News, a magazine known for its in-depth coverage of environmental issues in the western United States, and she lives off the grid in rural western Colorado.
